A quick report from today’s travel, I’ve just flown on the 3:40PM service to Zagreb on my way back to Sarajevo.

1 row at the front (myself and another pax), temperature in the cabin was horrendously hot (a challenge to breath and no exaggeration here), boarding by bus and guess what? No space for my laptop backpack once onboard. As I attempted to open the compartments above 1 and 2 (full to the brim), the purser asked me to proceed along the aisle and place it wherever I could find some space (why not allow, in the first instance, some tiny room at the front for those fussy business class passengers? We, humble customers, are clearly not supposed to know...) I was in a relatively good mood and didn’t say anything, the lady in 1A certainly wasn’t [having a joyful end of the week] and made a big fuss (whilst remaining polite, she managed to get the point across in a very clear and concise manner, which was perfectly within reason), the purser eventually agreed to take care of her belongings.

Coming to the catering woes: cold bread and the usual ghastly food, which (surprisingly) featured the addition of 2 artichokes (we’re getting there, slowly… Not.) The lady in 1A must have had a special meal, it looked like couscous on the main plate and a “rough” salad in the bowl, she again wasn’t happy and duly manifested her disappointment towards the young (male) purser, who apologised (I’ve surely heard more convincing przepraszam statements before however, to be fair, not his fault.)
