Currently in the middle of a BAH TP runs to the west coast. LHR-JER-LHR-JFK-SFO having arrived at just gone midnight local time. Power nap at the airport overnight and now about to head to PDX via SEA on a 6am departure before I can get a nights rest in a hotel before doing it again in reverse. Brutal!!
Also, it was my first ever time connecting at LHR - what an awfully slow experience at “fast track” security. I feel sorry for anyone that has to go through that. It would have been quicker to go landside and use the first wing security
Ouch, I would always leave a night's sleep en-route for an itinerary like that. Or if not possible then certainly some restful days at the destination!
EASA flight crew duty limits and acclimatisation rules provide a reasonable set of guidelines, I find. Reading material that will easily send one to the land of nod
