According to the SAS website, B class is seated in Economy on intercontinental flights. Also, from February 1st 2005 they will only give 100% points for intercontinental B class.

To me it looks like they want to make level of service (C, Y, M) and flexibility (whether changes are allowed) more independent on intercontinental routes - maybe due to corporate travel policies, where flexibility is needed, but comfort and service are not.
