A few years ago, we had an 8am flight from Tahiti to LAX. My kids were swimming the night before, and we didn’t have a dryer, so I put the still-wet swimsuits in a dry bag, which went into a checked bag. Our flight was on AF, and the aircraft continues to CDG after stopping in LAX. Our bag stayed on the plane and continued to CDG. It took a few days to return to LAX and be delivered to our house, and I was expecting the worst. But the swimsuits, while still wet, weren’t smelly or mildewed at all. I supposed it helped that it was January so the bag was kept at low temperatures the whole time.
