I would never put wet clothes into a suitcase. It's just asking for mold and odour problems. My schedule while traveling is never so tight that I don't have time to wash and dry a final bit of laundry the night before departing.
When I was training for marathons several years ago, I also traveled for work two to three weeks per month. The trips were 3 or 4 days and I would often run before work on the last day. I would put my sweaty clothes into a ziplock bag and my wet shoes in a garbage bag and put both in my suitcase. I would deal with both when I got home that night.
So, "never" is a pretty strict standard...
