Long haul J/F awards on CA are almost non-existent since the pandemic hit China. All Chinese carriers are the same, e.g. MU, CZ, HU in this regard.
I think that is understandable that flights are limited between China and U.S., and seats available for redemption logically have been reduced.
From my own experience, SQ is the hardest for redemption
