So the original itinerary was EWR-LHR (July 2023) with PZ clearing at booking with the reverse city pair (LHR-EWR) on return in November. The purpose for the return flight being so far out from the outbound was to hook up with my AA/BA itinerary, applied with AS sponsored upgrade (return flight in the opposite direction BOS-LHR daytime flight).
I was too cheap to submit P+ upgrade ex-LHR (due to UK APD), so I moved the return flight to BRU, especially given 77W aircraft capacity. It had since been updated to 787-10 ex-BRU. Made the upgrade chance a bit dicey, but still cleared ahead of gate control.
Routing to BRU on a separate BA ticket from LHR. SN was so much more expensive than BA. And BA I could select seat on a basic economy ticket being OWE.
