10-01-2017 Las Vegas mass shooting. I had been in Vegas for the weekend and was flying home in the evening of 10/01/2017. In fact, on the way to LAS, had driven down the Strip past the music festival. Upon landing at LAX, I received multiple texts and Facebook inquiries and was unsure of what had happened. Friends knew I was in Vegas because I had posted on FB. It was eerie to have been so close to what had happened. We must have taken off shortly before they shut the airport for awhile during the shooting and ensuing chaos.
