Welcome to Flyertalk Jott341! As others say, this is quite an individual decision, but I'd personally choose the 2 x PE. MCE are really regular Y seats with a bit more legroom whilst PE is a separate cabin with quite significantly better seats (though I'm not a fan of PE myself) and a quieter atmosphere which might also be nice with the toddler.
