Do you know the flight number? If it was UA2319 (the only mainline I can find from DEN to TUL) it was operated with an A320 on two days only - Nov 4 & Nov 5. Both of those went out on time. The flight is a B738 otherwise. But possibly it was before this date or a totally different flight that I haven't found yet.
If it was UA2319 then the captain either accepted the aircraft your captain refused or they had to find another one. Seems kind of impossible if they were leaving in 15 minutes.

The date was November 6. I am sure the flight was not going to leave within 15 minutes of us, but the aircraft (A320) had not been moved from the gate either. May have eventually been swapped for a 737. Don't know.
