Thanks all. It does therefore seem that the general consensus is I need to claim with AM. It's a nightmare this, having dealt with them whilst on my travel I have no confidence. Albeit in the end we are only talking £200, but annoying.

I'll try my luck with AM but maybe travel insurance is now the best avenue.

It's just frustrating having to deal with AM from the UK. I also wonder if it's now over 4 months ago, whether they will tell me to do one (if I ever get a reply).
