Correct, and at a number of other USA airports too. Now at ORD they still want to see the boarding pass to make sure you haven't transferred without a passport scan, but at JFK now, all boarding is just a walk on for everyone. So long as the camera catches you - and you see a square around your face as you approach, then that handles both the CBP requirement to identify an exit from the USA, and the BA requirement thanks to a link to FLY. This was how T5 was designed to be used, incidentally, but I can only imagine the GDPR problems with this approach.
