Don't overdo but a cm or 2 will not give problems on KL/AF, certainly not long haul. Short haul 737 and Embraers - then if too long/thick they will not fit. But I have never seen KL or AF measuring things like low-cost carriers do. They only will police things that are obviously way out of the limits in terms of size and weight.
