Folks, I know that some of you resent this kind of marketing, but I think Branson's spot on!
He knows where his product excels, and in this case it is in the product, itself!
He's not saying they should compete on convience of flight timings, networks, partnerships, etc. - just focus on the product.
It is a darned good idea - and just because he wants PR doesn't mean it is fluff!
I especially don't think it is unfair that BA's product is older than Virgin's. If the price is the roughly same, the are competing products and should be judged as such! A 3 yr old Jaguar isn't as nice as a new one, but an old one is also 1/2 the price!
I wish I thought of Branson's idea!
