I remember going from Tamsui on a ferry across the river to Bali (this Bali in Taiwan). There were people selling Bali mochi. East of the river, Tamsui, is much more populated and has MRT line. Bali side didn't have as much. Maybe it has developed more, but as ARLT mentioned, it's not as easy to get to.
So this hotel is located relatively close to the ferry terminal on the Bali side, may be less than 5 minutes drive (but probably too far to walk if you have luggage). The immediate area around the ferry terminal has some food options, but the overall area is still somewhat industrial and not very interesting. There is the Shishanhang Museum somewhat near the hotel, which is a decent place to spend a few hours.
