I keep TK Elite because to me is the easier and cheaper way to keep *A Gold, useful for intra Europe flights.
But... 95% of my extra EU/Transatlantic flights are with OW carriers and I definitely prefer OW to *A, starting from free seat selection, whatever the fare class is, to 1 baggage allowance on IB/AY/AA/AS even on HBO tickets.
Also BA is way easier than TK when it comes to find, book and manage redemption flights.
That is also one of the reason I care about OW more than *A to be honest.
TK is hub-captive on the long-haul routes I fly so charges whatever they want ( mostly TATL ) in both Y and J, they charge for exit-row seating, so BA/AA is more competitive and I could travel HBO without checking baggage without any weight restriction.
The only disadvantage is that I miss the TK Lounge at IST on those occasions as most of my TK or *A travel out of TR has shifted to domestic since I started flying BA/AA.
