You can choose a new train connection, e.g. on bahn.de or in the DB Navigator, for the same day and via the same route."
Basically, they train I bought the ticket for was cancelled.
First, clicking "get current information here" doesn't offer any assistance. But I have found alternate trains. Do I have to somehow change the ticket or can I take any DB train(s) that day, regardless of the fare, from Leipzig to Nurnberg using my original ticket? Most of the trains show high demand expected and they recommend booking seats. I can't seem to find any way on bahn.de to choose a different train(s) let alone a way to book seats.
I hope someone more experienced with DB can help me. TIA
You have a ticket from Leipzig to Nuernberg. So you can travel from Leipzig to Nuernberg. When you originally bought your ticket you selected a train, and may have selected a discounted fare that requires you to take that particular train. Regardless, you now have a ticket valid on all trains from Leipzig to Nuerberg of the same category or lower than the one you originally selected. You do not need to exchange your ticket.
If you also reserved a seat (seat reservations and train tickets live in separate universes) that seat reservation is now worthless, so you should request a refund from DB. If you want to you can now also reserve a seat on another train. This you can do on the website:
https://int.bahn.de/en/offers/Seat-r...tion-and-other or just go to the main page, scroll down and click there on "seat reservation".
