The actual department seems to be quite "top secret" and Customer Care can't even call - has to email. I'd contact Customer Care with a quick "You recently matched me per XYZ terms, and I have now been approved for the CC. The terms of the match provide that I should now receive 100K status. Please confirm that this is in process.

That's funny! I did a quick status match a couple of years ago to Air Canada and the support team with the third party vendor they used was surprisingly helpful, not something I expect to get from any airline. I don't have an AS trip planned until December so I'm in no rush, but I figured I'd get the ball rolling now expecting it to take a while over the holidays.
At least I don't have to fax anyone, which I've done more than once to get DL to fix something.
