Since most of my work travel is China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau, it seems like Marriott is the only good option (outside of Mandarin Orient and Four Seasons that is).
I don't get the infatuation with the Taipei Grand Hyatt. The service on my best stays there were non-descript and forgettable. Shanghai Andaz, though, should be good. That one opened with a lot of hoopla.

The truth is, many properties won't allow suite upgrades using SNA. Even if they permit it, you don't get upgraded.
Please don't go there. They will introduce a category like "non-dumpster view" and pull a SNA/NUA for that. Anything to soak up those NUAs and prove they are providing value for them.

Pardon the snark, but I am tired of paying higher prices for the same old hotels but now with fewer amenities and never knowing the cleaning schedule since it varies so much by property. And on top of this the FFT program will be further devalued because they can.
