Correct. I emailed the ticket office corresponding to my departure location from the page.
I don’t expect anything, I just want to warn others that they should submit the request much further than 72 hours in advance (ideally 1-2 months ?) and be prepared to fight for it. The thought of calling Turkish support is painful, which is maybe why this promotion is profitable for them.
Ideally, I would have called the airline to attempt to sort it out. However, I was busy with work, and it slipped my mind. This is a warning to others to set follow up reminders and be prepared for the process to take more effort than it may be worth.
