Timing for both is pretty good, so the choice comes down to the soft product (seat, food, service). I'm curious what Delta flyers who may also have experienced LATAM have to say. I appreciate your feedback.
Food is pretty much a wash (but you can't order on LA in advance). LAX gives you the lovely SC and also the OW Business Lounge as your available lounges, both much more pleasant than the ATL SCs. Pacific flights to/from South America tend to have a lot less turbulence. F&B? Pretty much a wash. Crew attitude? Generally a wash, too. Wine drinker? LA has a great lineup while DL hasn't been spectacular (was that polite enough) for some time. LA has never restored a PDB - just water at the seat, and doesn't have a real pre-meal beverage service - if you're lucky, they'll come around passing champagne after takeoff. DL has the typical int'l PDB (bubbles, juice, water) and post-departure beverage and nuts service. LA gives you a mattress pad and blanket. Amenity kits are marginal on both. Last DL flights to/from South America - September. Last LA flights, June.

Even though the comments would leave you thinking its a wash, similar fare, similar time, I'd take LA. But lower fare, I'd take the lower fare (if it were more than $100 or $200 difference and points accrual weren't an issue).
