It doesn't matter what the Dutch think or who they care about. The fact is that Canada has an Open Skies treaty with the EU, and the Netherlands is bound by that.

The problem with chipping away at international treaties and agreements--or ignoring the obligations you have under them--is that it damages the entire framework under which international affairs are conducted, whether in terms of diplomacy, trade or transport.
