It depends on your flying pattern, but I'd say Silver is possibly the only status that's worth going a
little out of your way to achieve if the costs to do so are reasonable. I was previously Silver. I do several TATL trips a year for work, all in Y/Y+ per our corporate travel policy - therefore no option to "just book a business or first class flight" when I want, except if I'm the one paying for my own leisure travel. Silver definitely does make that a materially better experience with lounge access, priority check-in/security, and boarding. I did once do a quick 80TP hop to renew Silver when I was a little short one year. Having recently achieved Gold, and likely going to renew organically this year through planned travel, I'm less convinced the difference in Group 1 vs Group 2 boarding, Galleries Club versus Galleries First,etc is worth stretching to achieve via a TP run.
