Interesting question -- I'm not sure if it's something that might be offered to Hawaiian's top frequent flyers on a complimentary basis in the future or not. I don't have status with Hawaiian, so I don't know much about their program. In any case, I don't think any US airline throws in these kinds of services for free these days. I've enjoyed using the car services from VS and EY in the past, for example, but at the time those were advertised as part of the premium cabin fare on routes to Europe and the Middle East. This new offering from Hawaiian is not being described as part of a premium cabin fare, but as an additional service that is available at an additional price -- similar to current offerings from other US carriers.

The cost also is in line with other airlines (e.g. Five Star Service from AA). From my perspective, it's well worth it. For my guests who will be visiting Hawaii for the first time, I think there's something special about a lei greeting immediately when exiting the aircraft, rather than having to make one's way down to baggage claim to find the third-party greeter there. Similarly, they will appreciate that they can skip baggage claim entirely and that their bags will be collected for them and brought to my house separately. It will also be nice for them that they can proceed directly from the gate to the car service that Hawaiian Airlines has arranged for them, and head straight to dinner from the airport, without having to carry anything. It actually sounds ideal. I wouldn't plan on using the service for my routine trips to and from Europe for work, but it sure sounds like a great option for a couple on vacation or travelling with a family. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes
