The easiest way would be you pay for the seat reservation before spending hours at the phone.
Reason: disability in Europe is broadly understood as a physical disability. Other disabilities are more difficult to "prove". Airlines and other entities are afraid that a lot of other people might turn up, demanding for example a seat in the 1st row, as they can't stay seeing somebody sitting in front of them.
