Washington state does get inclement weather, including snow.

Delta has hubs at Minneapolis/St. Paul, Detroit and Jack Kennedy which get the worst of winter weather, yet they manage to run their operations a lot more efficiently and on time when compared with AC. So does United in Denver, Chicago and Newark.
