I’ve stayed at PH Paris (and WA Versailles) and other luxury hotels in the world (esp in Japan where hospitality is top notch) and WA Amsterdam is still my favorite hotel in both hard and soft product. 2 diff stays on a combo of points and FNCs and both stays were stellar.

If views/suites were so important then you should have contacted the hotel before your stay and asked for upgrade rates. Also you said it was 45 mins till dark and you had to head to dinner right after checkin so was a view really that big of a deal? Sorry for your “bad” experience but at least that is one less person to compete for award space with.
