star alliance website lists Aspire Lounge as lounge that Star Alliance can access at EDI. Both Aspire lounges here turned us away saying there is no separate contract with United here (presumably other Star Alliance airlines may have contracts?). Directed us to the plaza premier lounge which stated free access only for United Polaris.

what’s the deal? Seems lame and certainly disappointing.
The Star Alliance website lists the Aspire Lounge as a contract lounge for A3/SN/TK.

UA no longer provides status-based access to contract lounges. This change was made a few years ago.
