More horrendous service from Avis

I really am astounded at how bad Avis' customer service has become.

I had a reservation for a 3-day rental at SXM for US$140.

I called yesterday to cancel the last day. Agent told me the rate would be the same-- $140 for two days. So I agreed and then received a confirmation... at $210 for two days.

The agent basically either lied or was incompetent (likely both). But when I called back, reservations said there was absolutely nothing they could do. They then transferred me to customer service which also said the same... They created a case (or so they said) and sent me a link to upload the original confirmation. They told me that they would refund the $70 after renting.

Well, wouldn't you know... clicking on the link gets me a message which says "no open cases"

Responding to the message with the original reservation, the shenanigans with Avis "customer service" begin... their response? "As this is an international location you will have to print this out and discuss it with the local station".

Any suggestions aside from just canceling (which is what I am inclined to do given their wretched service...)?
