I can definitely see the problem JetBlue would have if they marked the value of my new ticket as $1,000. I could then get a refund and walk away with $800 in profit.

JetBlue's 'Even More Seats' are an add-on that doesn't change no matter what you paid for your tickets - I guess I sort of thought Mint was an add-on as well. It's not, it's a new fare class, which makes it different.
