If you want to look at ex-EU then I'd also consider looking at Qatar, at least pre Covid they had some great fares from the Nordic countries.
What is the point of suggesting an airline based on what their prices were 4 years ago? A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then.
Currently QR flights to Aus next summer are >£5k, compared to <£3k for a mix of LH & SQ.
