If you still have access to an old AA boarding pass -- either paper or digital -- you should be able to confirm this yourself.
I obviously do not have the old paper AA boarding pass as those get thrown out. I did check an old email of mine from AA where I bought a basic economy seat and it says it has restrictions as we assign your seat at check in and you board in the last group. But that email is normal right since it doesn't know you are AAdvantage member? Since I read being AAdvantage member bumps you to group 6? Is there a way to view an old AA digital boarding pass or is that not possible?
