This can be better answered in BA thread, but is relatively simple - BA by rule will not check in separate tickets.

C.f. CX will do so (e.g. this was an HKG-TPE stand-alone connecting to an ex-TPE ticket) - luggage will be kept in HKG during the turnaround and loaded for your final HKG-XXX leg.
