That is what I meant to say about my large messenger bag. My large messenger bag is soft sided with a flap closure, it might not look the exact way you might think it does with the flap closure, but yes that is what it is. So for you to say yea you wouldn't recommend that... I'm surprised others didn't think the same. The other poster said they thought of that... so wouldn't that be enough to why I say electronics would get damaged? How do I know for sure if the large messenger bag would fit under the seat in front of me? Is there a way I can test this right now? So pack the large messenger bag like I normally do... then put it on the floor. How many inches high and wide can it be? I don't think it would fit fully underneath the seat in front of me but it would probably be sticking out so that would be problem? Is there a way to test this somehow? I do know the large messenger bag is under the dimensions for a carry on.
I cannot put less electronics in my carry on bag. If I was in the US now, sure I can. But not when I'm returning back to the US. Where am I suppose to find a messenger bag small enough but big enough to fit all my electronics? I don't want to go through all this stuff only to then like the almost 30 times I flew where I never had an overhead bin storage issue.
The barclays card would be useless for me then to apply. I rarely if ever play american. It is mainly jetblue or delta. I thought that card would be for all the carriers.
When you say just buy regular economy, you are talking about main cabin or american or delta right? That will pretty much almost guarantee overhead bin space? For jetblue, jetblue blue is certainly fine right? Again I never bought a plus or extra room seat because to me that is that not necessary. Look, I understand most people here travel a lot and are high income earners... I'm not. So I don't want to pay extra if I don't need to. For example, when I book basic economy for american or delta and sometimes get a middle seat, it never bothered me that much since the trip is only few hours long. I know for most people here, most can't even stand it for even a few hours.
