What a great result following what must have been a traumatic experience.
I happened to lose my wallet a couple of weeks ago while journeying home from DC. I’m pretty certain I left it at security at DCA. It wasn’t a proper wallet, just an RFID protective credit card holder so luckily didn’t contain any cash or items that couldn’t be replaced. I realised I no longer had it in my possession within minutes of landing at JFK and spent several minutes freezing my credit and bank cards before boarding my connection flight to London.
I was pretty calm about this until about ten minutes before we touched down at LHR. Then Christ, I thought, I have no means to get home from the airport.
Fortunately, and I had no prior reason to think this would work, Uber came to the rescue by accepted my booking while acknowledging payment had not been authorised and allowed me to settle the fare a few days later after my replacement Amex arrived in the post.
