Thank you for the link, I will look into storing bags or a cheap hotel even. I just was thinking shower, grab some food, put the bags in a lounge locker and then go into the city.
How come so many airlines have secure airside areas? My international travelling as a regular think is really only the last 5-6 years and its seems nearly all places are like this whereas of course in the US I can come & go as many times as I want. I am used to LAX with going for a run or grabbing some food at the Marina after storing bags & checking out the terminal or having some food in the lounge.
I know at SIN I was told to absolutely not try this but in May I spoke to a "manager" person who informed that you are allowed to leave the secure area once on your BP He encouraged me to go into the city and I would have no issues coming back, which I did not. I am not sure how to find out in advance if maybe HKG has a similiar policy but I guess I can ask at the information desk I recall seeing when you come out of the transit security entrance near the high 30 gates..
If leaving would void my BP that would be bad, unless you mean I would just need to get a new paper one upon returning as opposed to totally voiding my itinerary.
QR I had an issue with them with a mobile BP once so I will try to print it out at the hotel in Taipei the night before. I am on a separate ticket to Doha. I had to buy TPE-HKG separate.
SIN does not separate arrivals from departure. You can visit lounge upon arrival and exit immigration without problem.
However, it is of a lot of trouble to exit security area without boarding a flight. Could break the law, too.
