I mentioned that I have flown from the US to Cancun and back many times throughout the years. I have flown mainly with jetblue and delta but on few occasions american. Not once whether going from US to Cancun or vice versa was there ever an issue with overhead bin availability. With jetblue, I always bought jetblue blue. With delta, I'm pretty sure I bought basic economy almost always except few instances. With american, I must have bought basic economy almost everytime but I flown with them for sure less than 5 times total throughout the years. So I'm a bit concerned if overhead bin space is an issue with american compared to say jetblue or delta. For some reason I feel overhead bin space is never an issue on a jetblue flight. Also delta I feel a bit similar.
You don't seem to understand my situation. I do not have a smaller bag with me. I'm not in the US now where I can just buy and order few bags online to try. I only have a checked luggage that I check, a large messenger bag that has mainly electronics and a fanny pack. Basically everything I have in my checked bag, large messenger bag and even fanny pack is pretty full. So what do you want me to do? The thing is if I know there is overhead bin availability like there always has been, then I wouldn't even think or ask about this. However, the thing is I was thinking if I fly with american, then this might be a concern because someone posted a thing from american website that if you are in basic economy which is group 9, plan to gate check your bag. I never knew about that so want to know how accurate it is especially if it's an international flight. Again I flown with american from US to Cancun and vice versa much less than with jetblue or delta.
So you are saying buy at least a main cabin ticket if I choose to fly with american or delta?
