if you book from a US point of sale, the 24 hour cancellation policy on a reservation absolutely applies. If you purchased seats at the time of original booking, in the same transaction, you may have an argument for the refund, but if it was an AA award then that wouldn’t be the case. I don’t
believe the US requirement for 24h refund applies to ancillary purchases.
