Not traveling until late summer 2024, but I just decided to book a one bedroom suite at the InterContinental for my son and I.

For me, it came down to the fact that I'm traveling with a teen, and having plenty of extra space in a large suite felt well worth it when dealing with a sometimes-prickly teen temperament.

This is especially true as he and I are boarding a ship in Dublin from which we will spend the next 28 days in VERY close company. Being further from the sights seemed less important in my case. Also I have some mobility limitations/chronic health issues which make me more inclined to default to coming "home" in a taxi anyway; once I'm being driven, an extra few km is irrelevant. (+€10 per taxi fare isn't a big deal to me, either.)
