British Airways Special Assistance Thread
This thread is intended for people who may require some assistance by British Airways during their journey and is for passengers using special assistance services at Heathrow Airport. If I may add this thread is designed as a signpost and I have included the relevant links below which people might find useful. There are many sections in all of the links below and hopefully can answer queries.
There are of course many reasons why people might want to use these services and this thread is a signpost for people’s requirements. Hopefully over time it can be tweaked here and there for fine tuning where required including updates and I'll be monitoring it closely and happy to add any relevant information as it develops.
The information below is publicly available on ba.com as well as the CAA websites and I hope it will be a useful reference for anyone who may require it.
First of all, it is worth pointing out that passengers have a legal right to assistance, and this is highlighted in the CAA’s website.
You can see that information in post 4. But let’s start with what British Airways can do to help and assist those with mobility needs and other disabilities, visible or non-visible.
Please feel free to post any experiences here which may assist future travellers. I'll start a Wiki with a FAQ thread at some point however there is a lot of information publicly available. Any questions and experiences feel free to ask.
Thanks to a few folks who assisted with helping me set this up, one in particular so a very sincere thanks!
