The most underrated National and state parks in the US

Everyone has been in Yellowstone, Yosemete, Great Smoky Mountains, Zion, Grand Canyon... Question is - what is there that is hidden or not very publicized but totally worth the visit?

If you are nature lover, could you please list 1-3 underrated National and State parks in the US based on the following criterias:
  1. Accessibility: via highways (before getting the the park) and paved roads (to the park entrance and after)
  2. Natural beauty if the place, number and quality of trails
  3. Availability of affordable lodging withing 30 min of driving from the park
I will start
  • Canyonlands NP. Vast. Beautiful and breathtaking
  • Dead Horse Point State park. Right next to Canyonlands. The same
  • Lamoille Canyon, next to Elko, NV.
P.S. Well, in terms of affordability of lodging first two from the above is not great because you will end up staying in Moab and expect to pay min $200/night for Motel 6, but if you decide to stay at Green River, prices are considerably cheaper.
