their announcement is different...they are not replacing airplanes but seats... the biz seats in the A380 and A350 are substandard
In the Q3 earnings call the update was that they expect to have the first aircraft with the new cabins ready for summer 2024. Which should be a new delivery 787-9, so the time line keeps getting delayed. The first A350 with the new cabins, also now slated for summer 2024, maybe have to start flying without first class and that section empty.
It has also been revealed that the new Allegris does not fit the upper deck of the 747-8 and the new first class does not fit the A zone of the 747-8.
So yes, Lufthansa has said they will replace their current cabins, the question is what will be the time line. Surely not any time soon....
