I stayed there Sat - Thurs a few weeks ago, middle of October, and it was pretty full. I am not a student. Nice breakfast if you like bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and potatoes, yogurt and waffles. No cut fruit, Not much fresh fruit, but excellent breakfast staff.

There is a rooftop bar but any noise did not enter my room. Card reader inside door to turn on room power. I put a business card in there. One day a housekeeper pulled it out. At least in the room I had, this cuts power to the Microwave oven and the oven cannot be used until the clock is set. Hopefully, it was just my room that was wired that way. Bedroom TV was too close to a closet to access HDMI ports on left side of TV. Living room TV had accessible HDMI ports and nearby power outlet and I was able to use my Firestick.
The TV's have ability to enter your streaming service credentials but I prefer not to do so.

This was my first time in Berkeley since this hotel opened. I guess I'll go back to the Four Points in Emeryville or the Oakland Marriott if RI becomes student housing and its obtrusive. The CY Emeryville is a Sonesta now.
