The neighbour of the airbnb I had been staying at until the day of flight - I had contacted my host, who has a new guest but suggested her neighbour and I was familiar with the location so at the time it seemed like a good idea. Of course, I would have been better off paying for a hotel as paying cash to an individual for an informal (and technically not legal) Airbnb has made any reimbursement very difficult. While I do think it reasonable to supply receipts, I am hoping the fact the airline broke its own T&Cs by not informing me of my rights, much less offering accommodation, will bolster my case. I think it's worth a Letter Before Court Claim at the very least,.
