Doubtful AS would take the Chase credit. Fwiw, avoid the Chase portal at all costs and find another way use your points. I'm a happy Chase client but booking through their travel site is worse than a nightmare if you need to make any changes or cancel. I belong to a FB Chase Sapphire Reserve and this is well known and often discussed. I cycle through a bunch of Chase points but use them for things other than travel with the exception of booking a hotel/motel while sitting in the parking lot when I know 100% I won't need to change/cancel.
