My recollection of the service standard is that after take off the crew run the drinks trolley through first into WTP as the first inflight service provision, then separately - perhaps separated by half an hour - the meal trolley comes through. There isn't space on the meal trolley to have a full bar, so what is supposed to happen is that in that first drinks trolley the crew are supposed to offer a drink for "now" and offer a mini bottle of wine for the meal "later". They may offer 2 bottles if you smile. Now I've seen what happens here, people are glued into their headphones, order their g+t and don't hear the second drink offer.
