BTW What would you need to argue? It's an ID check, first and foremost. For those who are not EU citizens, there might be an additional visa/residencey permit/overstaying check.
101 question: if a pax arrives in France from Spain, with a valid but non EU visa waiving passport, expired Spanish resident card & renewal submission papers, and not a terrorism risk, can France reject entry and force/"deport" pax back to Spain?
