The problem is that it's one TSU per booking and I don't really see how you can put two different room types within a single booking. But maybe it can be done given the underlying expectation of being in a suite the whole time.
My original intent was to call the property and ask for a temporary downgrade into the base room for the entire stay so it can be merged. It would put them in an oversold situation but only for a few minutes, until I apply the suite upgrade.
