I never understand people who don't pay off their credit card bill if they have the money in their bank account and pay the interest, that doesn't make any sense to me.
So you are saying if I have been using a bank credit card for at least 15 years and always paid it off, I don't think I had one late payment ever... then I would have zero problem applying for almost any credit card but especially the one you mentioned? However, the big thing is I'm low income... like under $20,000. So I could still apply but I might get declined? Also how would they even verify your income? So when you apply, how would they check your credit? I don't own any home or car or anything like that. I just pay my credit card when it is due. Is that more than enough to apply and sign up for those 2 credit cards you mentioned? Also, jetblue plus credit card seem to be the best one of them? It says you get 50000 jetblue points worth 500 dollars if you spend 1000 dollars within 3 months. This isn't hard if you use your credit card for everything and it seem you get your money back even when paying that $99 annual fee if you take at least 2 roundtrips a year if you have checked luggage? They offer one free check luggage and it seems international counts as well?
So if you mainly plan to use fly with jetblue and delta but sometimes american, which credit card should you apply? The reason why I never applied for any new credit card is the one I have been using for over 15 years is more than enough for me. I remember my limit was $2,500 a month like 15 plus years ago and then it went to $5,000 and now I think it is $8,000. But of course I rarely spend anywhere near anything like that. I probably spend $3,000 on my credit card yearly at the most. Based on this, what do you recommend? You say it's silly for me to continue to use my same bank credit card that I been using for 15 plus years only right? I know I get roughly 1% cashback but that's only on every $2500 I spend. And that is how much I probably spend on average a year with my credit card. Thoughts on this?
