Taxi stand at the airport is easy and cheap. It's a fixed rate 150 THB (sometimes raised to 200 THB during high season) to anywhere in the Old City.

When you get to baggage claim, there are two windows offering taxis. Get a ticket from one of those windows, then go to the exit door specified by the employee (either door 1 or door 2). You pay the driver directly at the end of the ride.
